Pests that attack bonsai plant
Due to resistance acquired by the bonsai through years, usually diseases are not found in bonsai. Some times Powdery mildew appears as white mealy growth on leaves surface.
Mealy bug is the common pest found on Bonsai plants. This pest suck sap form leaves branches and roots.
Spray two days old boiled rice water on leaves and branches will control the pest, if the attack in not severe.
It is highly recommended to use eco-friendly Neem based organic pesticides for Bonsai plants for long results.
If pest attack is severe , spray any Neem based organic pesticide like Neemarin . If the bug attacks on roots the plants will show wilting symptoms. Put Neemcake 1 kg in 10 ltr water and keep it for 1 week stir well once a day. Put the plants with the pot in this solution for 10 minutes each, will control the bugs on roots.
