Root pruning - Cut 1/3 of roots every year
Root pruning encourages formation of new roots closer to the trunk root.
Take out the plants from the pot along with the soil.
Use a handsaw and cut 1/3 root portion of the lower side.
place the plant into another fresh pot.
If same pot in used, wash the inside and outside area of the pot .
Put the plants in the pot and put potting mixture and press.
Bonsai needs to be repotted when the roots circle around the root system. If the roots are still contained in soil wait another year before checking again.
