Planting Bonsai seedling - Pot selection and pot mixture ratio

Pot selection

Pot should be shallow and cute can be either, cement pot or clay pot.

Height of the pot up to 4 inch Rectangular or oval shapes are better.

Average length of 14 inch & width 7 inch can be selected.

As a rule length of the pot should be 2/3 of the height of the plant.

Width of the pot 2/3 of the width of the foliage.

Drainage hole should be provided in the bottom.

If the height of the pot is more, height of the plants will become more
and oversize.

Potting mixture

Potting mixture consists of sand, top soil and dried cow dung 1 : 1 : 1

Planting
Plant the seedling in the pot considering the “Back of the Middle” technique.
Plants can be either in the left or right corner of back of the middle. Never plant in the center of the pot as it is the region of union of heaven & earth, according to Japanese Buddhist Monks.
Planting should be in the evening.

Watering
Water twice a day for one week & keep in shade. Water logging in the pot should be avoided. Soil should not be disturbed while watering. Sufficient holes should be provided for drainage. Soil should not be clayey. Rose can or minishower can be used for watering. The best time for watering is in the morning. Soil should not be disturbed while watering. Rain water is the best. Tap water leaves calcite deposit on foliage. If so, use water standing in a tub. Water from filter point tube well is also good.

Repotting interval
Usually it is suggested to repot your bonsai every year. A Bonsai needs to be repotted when the roots circle around the root system. If the same pot has to be used, wash well inside and outside. If the roots are still contained in soil wait another year before checking again.

The real goal of growing a Bonsai is to make natures' miniature but realistic representation in the form of a tree. It re-energizes your home and you will love them like your kids. Please go through Bonsai plants and related things for more in Bonsai world. Hope this post help you!
