Due to resistance acquired by the bonsai through years, usually diseases are not found in bonsai.
Yellowing of leaves
Yellowing of leaves may occur due to insufficient nutrition,over-watering, symptoms of some diseases, under-watering, or overexposure to sunlight.
Yellowing may also occur if re-potting is not done properly. Re-pot annually and
change the soil. Apply magnesium sulphate 1 gm in 1 ltr. of water.
Drench 250 ml to a plant in the soil.
Rust disease
Rust disease appear on leaves occasionally as brown spots.
If rust or brown spots appear on leaves, remove the affected leaves.
Spray the leaves of the plants with pseudomonas 20 gm/ltr water in the
early morning or evening. It is an organic fungicide.
It is highly recommended to use Eco friendly Organic pesticides for Bonsai plants for better results.
Mealy bug attack
Powdery mildew appears as white mealy growth on leaves surface. Mealy bug is the common pest found on Bonsai plants. They may occur under leaves of bonsai plants, stem and roots in the soil. This pest suck sap form leaves branches and roots.
Spraying with a neem based organic pesticide is sufficient.
Or
Spray with Psudomonas 20 gm/ 1 ltr water early in the morning or evening.
You can use some Neem based organic pesticides to control pest attack.
